Greetings, humans. I love writing, and I love long-form content. But researching, drafting, editing, organizing, structuring, proofing, and posting the sorts of material I like to put out on the interwebz is a pretty daunting proposition. So, I had a thought.
As much as I want to (and will) continue working on my primary websites (or “blogs” although I hate that term; namely this one and this one), I just don’t post as often as I want to for the reasons I already mentioned. But often, I just want to talk about some cool thing I found, or some new idea I came across. So I decided that one solution is to make writing and posting things less onerous.
And by that, I mean: Smaller. Shorter. Easier. With a lowered bar. The result is wesidue.
This site doesn’t really have a tagline. But if it did, it might be, “What remains after thinking too much.” Or, perhaps, “Notes, fragments, and other intellectual runoff.”
It occurred to me that “Leftover thoughts” might be good, so I sort of riffed on that for the home page.
Long-form content will continue on QueryBang. Long-form content on film photography will continue on Beyond the Aperture. But I’m hoping that a sense of not needing to scale a mountain every time I want to write something will make wesidue something interesting for me — and perhaps for some of you as well.
